THE BIG NEWS

I'm Out of Office. For Real.

A crow taking flight from a white wooden railing near a body of water.
This month, I was supposed to start a sabbatical. Instead, along with tens of thousands of other tech workers, I got laid off. After 15 years in corporate journalism and marketing, I’ve got a blank calendar, no paycheck, and a terrifying kind of freedom.

I’ve made budget spreadsheets. I've looked at job boards. I’ve stared at the river. I’ve cried.

I’m trying to use this wild free time to rest, to write, to rethink. I don’t know what’s next, but this is a chance for a pivot! I’m not going back to “business as usual.” I’m building something that sustains me, not just a company.

If you’re at a crossroads too, hello. Let’s see where this new flight takes us.

What Is Slow-Burn Romance, and Why Do We Crave It?

Two hands, male and female, reaching for a lever on top of a box labeled 'TNT' in a painted style.
You know the kind of romance I mean. The stolen glances. The almost-touch. The quiet nights where two people hover near the edge of saying something real. The slow burn.

Every delay deepens investment. Every time one character walks away instead of confessing? That’s fuel. By the time they finally kiss, it’s not just satisfying. It’s a release.

As a reader, I love a slow burn because...

DORY'S CORNER

Birthday Edition 🎉

Dory just turned 15!

He celebrated with his usual blend of regal disdain and quiet satisfaction. We gave him a fresh new catnip mouse (immediately ignored), sang him a birthday song (he left the room), and served his favorite dinner: tuna with a plain yogurt chaser. That part, he approved of.

Fifteen years of sitting in sunbeams and demanding snuggles on laps. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Happy birthday, old man.

Falling for My Boss

A steamy story collection

Workplace romance has never been so irresistible. Falling for My Boss is a spicy collection of 10 unique stories where passion and professionalism collide.

From a celebrity kids’ show host clashing with the network’s new CEO, to a nanny falling for a broody ex-SEAL dad. Whether it’s rockstars, executives, or athletes, these bosses are impossible to resist, and falling for them is half the fun.

WILL YOU HELP ME?

If you have read (or listened!) to Painting Celia and not yet left a review, would you please write a quick one for me? Reviews are what lead other readers to the book. The most valuable places to leave one are Amazon and Goodreads.

I would be so grateful, my friends!
